Our Farms

Atnago Farm

Located in Limmu, Oromia, our 200-hectare farm features 180 hectares of arable land and 22 tree species that provide shade for our coffee plants. Equipped with washing stations and drying mills, we process coffee varieties from local out-growers within 50 kilometers, each with distinctive flavors and characteristics.

Gera Farm

In Gera Woreda, our 150-hectare Yukro farm and wet mill sits at 1900-2100 meters altitude. It produces specialty grade 1 coffee known for its sweet, creamy, floral flavors and distinctive rue aftertaste.

Gambella Farm

Our third farm in the Godere zone, Gambella, sits at 1900 meters and spans 300 hectares. It has a potential annual production of 250,000 kilograms, currently yielding 20,000 kilograms. The coffee is known for its exquisite floral and spicy notes.

FAQ

What are you currently doing to prepare for the EUDR regulation?

 Fahem has made the following preparations for EUDR:
    – Document Preparation: All relevant documents have been prepared.
    – GPS Data Collection: GPS points are being collected using the Decimal Degrees (DD) system with six decimal points which has been completed as of July 30, 2024.
    – Polygon Mapping: Polygon mapping has been produced for large farms, specifically those with an area of 4 hectares or more.

How many containers do you export annually?

We currently export about 400 containers annually with plans to export 600 containers by 2025.

What is the typical timeline for processing and exporting coffee from your farms to international markets?

The processing and shipment of an order to the container take less than a month. However, the entire process, from order to delivery, typically takes around three months to reach our customers.

Do you offer direct trade options or partnerships with international buyers?

At our coffee plantation, we offer direct trade options and have established strong relationships with clients. We highly value partnerships and collaborations, which enhance community support and development initiatives. Through our collaborations, we provide training to out-growers on critical issues like child labor and equality, ensuring ethical and sustainable practices. Joint efforts have also led to the construction of an elementary school, supporting local education. Additionally, we supply farmers with essential agricultural tools, improving their farming practices and productivity.

What measures do you take to support local communities and farmers in your supply chain?

 – Seedling Raising and Distribution: We assist the community by raising and distributing coffee seedlings.

   – Technical Support: We provide strong field technical support to out-growers, focusing on agronomic aspects of coffee cultivation.

   – Infrastructure Development: We have established two grain mills, constructed roads, built two school blocks, a kindergarten, and installed electric lines.

   – Partnership with Out-Growers: We maintain a strong partnership with approximately 5,000 out-growers.

   – Annual Benefits: At the end of each year, we distribute dividends, bonuses, and premiums to our out

-growers, recognizing their invaluable contributions to Fahem Coffee Plantation.
